Yes, Remote Access is an Official Selection at the 2019 Detroit SheTown Film Festival, to be held at Cinema Detroit September 12 – 15!
We are screening on Saturday, Sept 14 in the Saturday Spirit of SheTown Films block from 6PM to 8PM – come on down if you are a Detroit native!
SheTown is a film festival that is focused on female-driven independent cinema in performances, stories and key filmmaking production positions. It showcase creative works of female filmmakers from Michigan, USA and Internationally.
Last year it sold out, and it quickly became one of Film Freeway’s Top 100 reviewed festivals. Leanne’s first short, The Morning After screened last year, so this makes it two for two 😉
Tix are available (including free entry to opening night mixer and Directors Panel) here:

On March 23, 2019 Remote Access had its premiere in Brooklyn at the Imagine This Girl Power Film + Media Summit – and we won Best Short!!
We have now been invited to to screen at the official ITWIFF or “Imagine This International Women’s Film Festival” in November! Is another cold weather visit on the cards?
We also had a great time meeting the powerhouse female creatives there, and learn from their expertise in panels and workshops, not to mention seeing the other short films and doco’s.
The week before Girlpower, Michela and Leanne attended the Australians In Film Screen Forum at the Lincoln Center.
They got to chat to/ask questions of the celebrity speakers and judges Jason Blum, Baz Luhrmann, Shane Brennan and Jill Badcock, though sadly not CM (Catherine Martin).
Michela got a lovely compliment about her jacket from Baz Luhrmann, and worked hard networking and handing out flyers on Remote Access and Carmen & Bolude.
Leanne got through the first round of pitching (20 contestants), through to round two (8 contestants), but didn’t make it to the third and final round – where all 4 were deemed winners and won $500!
They *may* have done a bit of socialising and shopping while in New York, but our lips are sealed!
Remote Access is only at the beginning of its festival year, so stay tuned for more news and screenings 🙂
